650 Cases of our Elegant Reserve and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon…..

RESERVE

On the nose you perceive an intensity of black cherry. The warmth of oak is evenly balanced with the depth of ripe plums.

With your first sips the velvety soft tannins roll through the beginning. Upon further discovery, the flavors of dark fruit, currants, and spice entice your palette.

On the finish, the dessert course is presented. It ties in perfectly with the nose – luscious vanilla with notes of black cherry. The finish is long lasting.

ESTATE

This is a luscious fragrant & complex wine.

The nose is full with the aromas of rich caramel, ripe berries & leather.

Flowing seamlessly through many layers, the earth is ever-present; mineral and mushroom tell the story of the terroir.
Hints of bittersweet chocolate melt on your tongue  to begin the finish. The roll of the wine is relaxing as you are taken on journey as the profound warmth lingers on your palette as you reach for one more taste…. and then another.

Bringing in one of our favorite artists of Vineyard scene paintings is Dana Hawley…. we are here in her studio.  BUT!  What is so great is she will come to OUR winery and set up a “Palette Party” that YOU can attend…  so much fun for beginners who have never put paint to canvas (or in this case, barrel staves).

Create your own vineyard art. More about our next Palette Party at Tara Bella coming soon!

Some local members of our Tara Bella Wine Club asked about a half day canoeing trip down the Russian River.  You know we haven’t had much rain this year, so the river was VERY low…. so it was a float down the lazy river…  it was a half day trip… but we like to take ALL day to do it.

Maybe next year you could join us!  Wouldn’t that be great?

As the pink and purple faces emerge in the beautifully well formed bunches, harvest is said to be 80 days out. Sugar is already reaching 11 & 12 brix.

With this hot weather, the grapes are so happy. If you look at the shoots and stems, you can see that they are ripening and starting to change from green to red to brown. The big stems will now be known as ‘CANE’. In a very short while (next couple of weeks), the grapes will start to turn red as well…. it is called ‘VERAISON’. It is so pretty and very exciting when they start to change color.

We say our goodbyes to each other, and rave about what a fun trip we’ve had together, tasting wines and becoming deeper friends.  Our talk now turns to the next trip, in 2016.  We are thinking we will float down the Danube River from Passau, Germany to Budapest, Hungary.  We all want to go on that one and we think YOU would love to go too.

But for now, we are so sad to be leaving our traveling family.  Back to Tara Bella winery to tend to our grapes and prepare for the next harvest and taste some of the best California Cabernet Sauvignon!

See you soon…. Adios.
