The California Wine Festival in Santa Barbara…our office for the weekend!
OK, I know that I said that “2012 will be the vintage of the decade”… but I am rethinking that now….2013s are beyond bold and flavorful….
We had very little rain… the beginning of the drought. With some water through irrigation, we experienced a VERY hot summer. Perfectly ripened fruit. 2013 will be a contender.

RESERVE
Its deep garnet hue will get your attention while being poured into your glass.
The nose delights with aromas of ripe raspberries while overtones of vanilla and caramel fill your senses.
Earthy flavors with hints of juicy raspberry, oak, black pepper and warm spices have you reaching for that second glass.
ESTATE
A juicy fruit forward Cabernet that fills your taste buds with essences of plums and vanilla.
Your first sips will have you saying out loud, “Oh Wow! This is so smooooooth.” You’ll sense soft tannins presenting as a black cherry kiss. A warm hint of coffee and tobacco undertones then lead you to a finish that is warm and lingering.
Even at this young age, this wine is already so very approachable. Grab some friends and share this one tonight with pasta in a big red sauce.

Discing under those last pesky weeds that suck up precious water. You can see how dry it is…… Make sure you wear your mask….
Soil in this area has higher levels of sodium…. adding 26 TONS of Gypsum (that is 52,000 pounds of pulverized rock)!! neutralizes the sodium… therefore, USING LESS WATER.
Also, to help prevent dehydration in the fragile grapes closer to harvest…..
It is a VERY dusty job for winemaker, Kevin…….
What a beautiful day on the Sonoma County coast…where the Russian River empties into the Pacific.
Thank you Burt, Evan & Kate for such an amazing customer experience at River’s End Restaurant & Inn. Everything was PERFECT!!
