Son, Dillon, walking the vineyard, will check for leaks and clogs in the vital drip system. With not enough rain yet for 2013, irrigation will be a critical factor.

Kevin brought in the winery tractor and scraped and filled until the area was level. Then we laid down the landscape cloth and put down a thick layer of sand.

In an area of weeds and wild flowers, we got an idea to expand the little path into a place where Kevin thought it would be fun to have a fire pit…. Wendy got to work.
The Clone 7 Estate Vineyard had its pruning finished yesterday. Also got some much needed nutrients into the soil on both vineyards. Just in time too, because today it has been pouring rain ALL day. Perfect….. aaahhhh.
We’ve had 2 very deep frosts the last couple weeks. The one the other day brought us down to 29 degrees. Finally all of the leaves are off of the vines and we can begin to prune. We don’t want to prune too late because then we have a late bloom and shorter ripening time. Almost hibernation time….
Presley and Thornton are so excited to be a part of “Lights Of Olivet”. See? They can hardly contain their enthusiasm! Hope to see you visit. It is supposed to rain… but hopefully not TOO much…..
